The Sunlight Calendar

We are working on a new Port Sunlight Wheelers calendar that will display a wide range of information on events relating to the club.

The new calendar will cover everything from our regular weekly club rides to social events such as the Christmas dinner and summer barbecue. It will also highlight important dates in the calendar that involve the administration of the club, such as monthly meetings, the AGM and payment dates for annual subscriptions.

Sunlight Club Rides

The club has a selection of rides that suit a variety of abilities and age groups. These range from fast-paced training rides to slower social runs.

Most of our rides include a mid-point cafe stop, however, for those who prefer a ride that doesn’t stop, we have a “straight-through” run that gets back a little earlier than those with breaks. The Sunlight also has a women-only ride that leaves Nets Cafe at Little Neston on Saturday mornings For more information on these specific rides, please view this section of the website.

To join us on one of our club rides, you can either contact us by email or simply turn up at Nets Cafe 10-15 minutes before the ride is due to depart and introduce yourself to anyone in a Sunlight shirt.

TUESDAY

Tuesday Chain Gang

A fast-paced training ride that last between 90 and 120 minutes. Usually on Tuesday evening during the summer. Find out about time and place of departure on Sundays at Nets Cafe. This ride is both technically and physically demanding as it requires cycling close to the rider in front at high speeds. For this reason, it is recommended for experienced cyclists only.

SATURDAY

Women's Ride 9.30am

Weekly women-only ride, sometimes straight-through with no cafe stop, but often a cafe entices us in! The rides alternate between a steady paced, flatter ride of about 40 miles and a faster-paced, hillier ride that covers between 40 and 50 miles. Rides depart from Nets Cafe, Little Neston at 9.30am every Saturday. New riders should first try out the steady ride.

SUNDAY

Club Ride 9.30am

A steady-paced, straight-through ride with no cafe stop (although some members do occasionally take a refreshment break). Usually between 60 and 70 miles. Departs Nets Cafe, Little Neston at 9.30am every Sunday. This is the club’s most popular ride and is an ideal introduction for potential new members.

SUNDAY

More Club Rides...

Often there is more than on ride on offer on a Sunday. For all rides, meet at Nets Cafe in Little Neston, ready to depart at 9:30am, though some rides might leave at 10am. Speak to the other Sunlight members to find out where they are going and if there is a cafe stop.
