The Pettitts, a group of coaches who organise velodrome events, have secured a four hour session at Manchester Velodrome on Saturday 14 October 2017. The session, which starts at 1800 and finishes at 2200, will be split into two experienced groups with an additional group of novice riders.
For the experienced groups, they are looking for riders who have previously ridden at Manchester or another track ie: Newport or Derby. You don’t have to be accredited but experience is essential.
They will have the derny(s) out at some point during the evening. This is for those experienced riders who wish to join in, not compulsory. If you would like to ride, then please complete this form and submit as soon as possible.
Booking and payment in advance is essential please to secure your place, booking early is strongly advised. If you wish to receive confirmation of your place please send an email so they can confirm back to you.
Latest date to book by is 1 October 2017.
The cost for riders will be either:
£28 (riders with own track bike)
or
£28 + £18.10 = total of £46.10 (including bike hire cost)
or
£28+ £13.90 = Total of £34.90 (bike hire included at a concessionary hire rate for 16 years and under)
If you request a hire bike please email the Pettitts with your bike size so they can arrange for your bike hire to be made ready for you to pick up in the track area.
No refunds are available after payment is received, but you can give your place to another experienced rider if unable to attend as long as you confirm this arrangement with the organisers and they complete the booking form.
Helmets and shoes are available via Reception on arrival should you wish to hire these. Coach fees included in cost of session.
To meet Manchester’s bike specifications your bike will need to have the following:
Fixed wheel
165mm cranks
280mm (11″) bottom bracket height (measured from floor to centre of bottom bracket)
Gearing should be a maximum of 88” inches
No braze-ons
Must have track ends
Bar ends on handlebars
Should not have spare cog on flip flop hub
Should have no dual compound tyres.
It is advised you check chain tension and tightness wheel nuts before taking to the track.
